Nutrition: What Is a Diet?
Your diet is the food you eat every day. It isn't a fad or a temporary fix, and it should bring you energy, health and enjoyment.
Food fuels your training and supports every function in your body.
Diet = long-term habits
Food provides the energy for our bodies to move throughout the day, as well as the nutrients that help build muscle, strengthen bones, regulate hormones and keep the immune system strong.
Your body cannot properly function without the essential nutrients it gets from food.
Mindset
Many people treat a diet as temporary. Eat clean for a month, then back to normal. That can work for a short-term goal, but it isn't something you can keep going, and the results tend to leave with the effort.
- Build a diet around foods you enjoy that also support your health.
- Don't let small slip ups derail your progress. Better still, don't think of them as slip ups at all.
- Focus on consistency, not perfection.
Your diet should feel like a process you can enjoy forever, not a short-term plan you'll eventually quit.
