Nutrition: What Are Whole Foods?

Whole foods are foods that have been processed as little as possible and are free from artificial substances.

If it grew in the ground, grew on a tree, came from the teat or had a mum and dad, it's likely nutrient-dense

Foods like these carry the vitamins and minerals your body uses to build muscle, recover from training and keep everything working properly. Variety is what gets you the full range, rather than any single food.

What this looks like

  • Meat, fish and eggs.
  • Vegetables and fruit. Fresh, frozen or tinned are all fine.
  • Rice, oats and potatoes.
  • Dairy products.
  • Beans, nuts and other legumes.
Remember

Find a handful of whole foods you genuinely enjoy eating, and let those make up the majority of your diet.
