Cardio: How Much Do You Actually Need?

Most people picture cardio as long, exhausting runs. In reality, it takes a lot less than that to make a real difference.

10 to 15 minutes a day

Even ten to fifteen minutes a day makes a meaningful difference to your fitness. That's short enough to fit around work, family and everything else in your week.

If you enjoy it and want to do more, go for it. If you're training for an event like a 10k, you'll need more than this. For general health, it's a solid place to start.

Fitting it in

It doesn't need a slot of its own. A brisk walk to work, a short bike ride or ten minutes at the end of a strength session all help strengthen your heart and lungs.

Remember

Ten to fifteen minutes a day is enough to make a real difference.
