Environment: Getting Outside
Your environment isn't only your home and your kitchen. One of the simplest ways to change your surroundings is to step outside.
Get outside every day, even for a few minutes
Stepping outside changes the light, the air and what you're looking at. Your body responds to all three.
What it does for you
- Daylight helps set your body clock, which affects when you feel alert and when you feel sleepy.
- Your skin makes vitamin D with the help of sunlight.
- Time in green spaces is linked with better mood and wellbeing.
Remember
A few minutes of daylight a day is one of the easiest changes you can make.
General information, not medical advice. Follow sun safety advice when you're outdoors, especially in summer.
